Tasting notes Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc 2025 en Primeur
White wine Aged in wood. 8 months in oak barrels.
Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc 2025 En Primeur is a sensory gem. This white wine, crafted entirely from Sauvignon Blanc, unfolds with opulent notes of candied citrus, accompanied by aromas of fresh herbs and white fruits such as pear and apple. On the palate, its creamy texture and rich density envelop a core of succulent fruit, while its aromatic intensity shines through with each sip. The bright and well-defined acidity balances its structure, leading to a long, ethereal, and fragrant finish. In a vintage marked by drought—which challenged the white wines—this wine emerges as a great triumph, distinguished by its unparalleled fullness and freshness.| Young |

About Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc
In the official Bordeaux wine classification of 1855, wines were classified by importance into five categories: first, second, third, fourth and fifth “crus”. White wines, then much less important than reds, were limited to the sweet varieties of Sauternes and Barsac and were catalogued only as first and second vintages. However, after centuries of red-focussing, white wines are gaining in volume, value and prestige. Château Margaux, a prestigious winery that dates back to the late seventeenth century and whose terroir became a denomination and a Château, makes Pavillon Blanc du Châteaux Margaux, their second wine. This white wine was first made in 1920 and has had the same label ever since.
The truth is that Châteaux Margaux Pavillon Blanc du Châteaux Margaux shows such a unique simplicity and elegance that it has never seemed right to change anything. Starting life in an 11-hectare vineyard, it is made solely of Sauvignon Blanc. Located on a very old plot of clay and gravel where previously there were red vines that were uprooted due to the high risk of spring frosts, conventional agriculture is practiced and the grapes are traditionally harvested by hand. Then in the winery, which was redesigned by Norman Foster, they use ultra-modern facilities and the selection is so thorough that only a third of the harvest is bottled. The grapes are destemmed, crushed and the resulting must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Finally, the wine is aged on its own lees in French oak for 8 months.
Thus, with a limited production of about a thousand cases, Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc du Châteaux Margaux is the fruit of excellence. A white wine with clear elegance, complexity and length that stands out in a world of reds.
