About Domaine Sylvain Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc

Originally from Poland, Sylvain Bzikot’s grandfather arrived in Puligny to flee the war with nothing but the clothes on his back. Since then, the family domaine has been completely dedicated to the land and now, they have expanded into some of the most valuable agricultural land in the world like Saint-Aubin, Volnay, Santenay, Auxey-Duresses and Puligny-Montrachet. These are key Burgundy production areas that encouraged Sylvain Bzikot to set up his own project in 2012 to make wines that would be representative of the most prestigious denominations of the Côte de Beaune at a very affordable price.  

The truth is that while the prices of entry-level wines from Puligny and its neighboring villages of Chassagne and Meursault are getting higher and higher, this Domaine Sylvain Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc is a very affordable Chardonnay from a single vineyard on the outskirts of Puligny Montrachet within the AOC Bourgogne. Top quality grapes are selected, destemmed and gently pressed in the winery and the resulting must is spontaneously fermented with native yeasts. A third of the wine is then aged in oak and the rest in stainless steel tanks.

The result is charming. With an extensive knowledge of the terroir and absolute precision in each of the processes, Domaine Sylvain Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc is a fresh, crisp and unique Burgundy Chardonnay with excellent value for money.

 

Domaine Sylvain Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc 2020 is a creamy white wine with aromas of apple, notes of white flowers and hints of minerals. On the palate it is fresh, flavoursome and unctuous. A balanced wine with great acidity and a long finish.
