About Suertes del Marqués Cool

Suertes del Marqués Cool is a wine from the Nat'Cool collection. A wine made with the native variety Listán negro and a result of the collaboration between Niepoort and the winery of the D.O. Valle de la Orotava, Suertes del Marqués.

The Nat'Cool movement is an initiative launched by the prestigious winemaker Dirk Niepoort to raise awareness about natural wines from around the world that are made with local grapes, have a low alcohol level, are easy to drink and come in one litre bottles. Suertes del Marqués Cool is an example of this. It is a red made together with a family winery located in the Orotava Valley and whose main goal is to produce wines that undergo minimal intervention in the winery. 
 
The variety with which Suertes del Marqués Cool is made is Listán Negro: a grape that adapts perfectly to the rich volcanic soils and that is cultivated using the traditional braided cord system. In the vineyard the use of chemical treatments is avoided, and natural products are used when diseases appear. In addition, the harvest is manual and the de-stemming total.

In the cellar Suertes del Marqués Cool is macerated in concrete tanks for 12 months and the alcoholic fermentation is carried out with native yeasts and without added sulphites.

Suertes del Marqués Cool is Nat'Cool, a naturally produced fluid red wine with a low alcohol level and presented in a litre bottle.
2020

Suertes del Marqués Cool 2020 is a juicy red wine with intense aromas of red fruit, notes of wet earth and hints of spices. On the palate it is fresh, pleasant and easy to drink. A wine with an electrifying acidity and sold in a one-litre bottle for even more enjoyment.
2017 Suertes del Marquis Cool 2017 is a wine with aromas of black fruit and spicy touches. On the palate it is fruity and juicy, and has a lingering finish.
