About Viña Zorzal Tifero

When it comes to garnacha, there is no stopping the Sanz brothers and Viña Zorzal. This time, the duo has ventured beyond their beloved Navarra to collaborate with Fredi Torres, the Galician based in Priorat and Empordà, who has revolutionised the scene with his fresh, minimal intervention style. Together, they have launched Viña Zorzal & Fredi Torres Tifero, a project that seeks to reinterpret Navarrese garnacha with elegance, fluidity, and authenticity.
 
The name Tifero, a nearly secret nickname among friends, gives us a hint: it perfectly encapsulates the wine's relaxed spirit—careful, expressive, yet never overbearing. The old Navarrese garnacha, organically cultivated in bush vines on mineral-rich soil, adds depth. In the winery, the manual work is entirely respectful, fermenting with native yeasts. Finally, Viña Zorzal Tifero will undergo ageing for less than a year in 500-litre barrels.
