About Château de Béru Chablis Clos Béru Monopole

Château de Béru Chablis Clos Béru Monopole is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine produced by Château de Béru in the A.O.C. Pommard, in Burgundy, France.

The grapes used to make the Château de Béru Chablis Clos Béru Monopole wine come from vines aged around 30 years old that are planted in plots with predominantly limestone soils, although some are also planted in soils with clay and some streaks of loam. The vines have a limited yield to enhance their quality and the harvest is carried out manually. Following a pneumatic pressing, the resulting must ferments in used barrels under its native yeasts. The wine then ages in barrels for around 18 months and is bottled without clarifying or filtering.

Château de Béru is a family winery dating back more than four centuries, but all their vines had to be uprooted following the phylloxera crisis. It was only in 1987 when Count Éric de Béru decide to replant the entire vineyard and now his daughter Athénaïs de Béru runs Château de Béru. She has begun using biodynamic agriculture and her delicate care has resulted in pure, delicious and mineral wines like this Château de Béru Chablis Clos Béru Monopole.

2015 Château de Béru Chablis Clos Béru Monopole 2015 is a profiled white wine with citrus aromas of lemon zest on the nose, accompanied by notes of green apple and toasted and mineral nuances. On the palate it is vibrant and fresh, with the mineral elegance and depth of Burgundy whites.
