About Dominio do Bibei

Dominio Do Bibei is a red wine made with the Brancellao and Mouratón varieties produced in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra by the Dominio Do Bibei winery.

Dominio Do Bibei was born out of the passion of a team of young winemakers. A winery that sits among the rugged Ribeira Sacra landscape. And this project, working with people like Sara Pérez (Mas Martinet) and René Barbier (Clos Mogador), seeks to put the identity of the land into a bottle in the most natural and environmentally-friendly way. Because of this, they have integrated their building into the tiered landscape, which allows them to make wine using gravity.

The Dominio Do Bibei grapes come from 23 hectares of their own vineyards that are planted at an altitude of between 250 and 350 metres above sea level. An exceptional terroir of shale and granite soil and a climate of Atlantic contrasts that results in a great variety of grape nuances. The harvest is carried out manually into 10 kilo boxes.

In the winery, the clusters are manually selected and de-stemmed. Dominio Do Bibei undergoes a three-day pre-fermentation maceration and then alcoholic fermentation is carried out in open French oak barrels. Lastly, the wine ages in French oak barrels for 19 months.

Dominio Do Bibei is a most expressive red wine that represents the finesse and elegance of the unmistakable Ribeira Sacra Atlantic wines.
