Filipa Pato & William Wouters Nossa Calcário Branco is a white wine made by Filipa Pato & William Wouters in the DOC Bairrada (Beiras) with the native Bical variety.

Filipa Pato, an active part of the “Baga Friends” initiative, is a chemical engineer who works to protect the authenticity of her land. After training in the best wine regions in the world, she returned to Portugal and together with prestigious sommelier William Wouters, she started making her own wines.

With a focus on Bairrada’s traditional varieties, Filipa Pato & William Wouters Nossa Calcário Branco is made with grapes from their own vineyards. These are Bical variety vines planted in limestone soils and perfectly suited to the local climate with its Atlantic influence. Environmentally friendly agriculture is used and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, the Filipa Pato & William Wouters Nossa Calcário Branco grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must is transferred to 500-litre barrels for fermentation with native yeasts at a controlled temperature below 18ºC and twice a month pump overs.

On the nose, it features aromas of fruits such as green apple and pear, with a citrus hint of lemon. On the palate, it is fresh and elegant, with balanced acidity and a smooth finish. Aged in barrels, it boasts a well-defined texture and a distinctive character, perfect for those seeking a white wine with personality and finesse.
2018 Filipa Pato Nossa Calcário Branco 2018 is a white wine with aromas of citrus fruits and fresh herbs as well as intense mineral hints. On the palate it is fresh, assertive and balanced. It reveals a bright acidity and a persistent finish.
